I hate needles!

Yes, that pretty much sums it up.  I hate, fear, cringe at the thought of, & wince at needles.  I do not give blood, I put off immunization/booster shots & I certainly do not voluntarly get a flu shot.

All that to be said, I have horrible allergies.  Not just your average spring time pollen allergy, but full blown, 9 months out of the year ALLERGIES.  After much debate & no luck with over the counter drugs, I decided to get allergy tested.  What does that entail you ask...38 "pricks" on my back.  I broke out, itched for hours & they have determined that I am allergic to everything airborne, but mostly pollen, grass & pets.

The next step is to get shots.  Yes, you read right...SHOTS.  I am signing up to get 6 shots a week for the next 6 months, followed by smaller doses/less shots indefinatly.  Although not excited about the prospect of using my day off to drive 45 minutes to get shot 6 times, I am excited about the prospect of getting to enjoy the great outdoors.  I am excited to be able to run, hike, bike or just stroll through the neighborhood with the dogs in tow & not have my eyes watering and nose running.  I look forward to the times I will be able to lay in the sun & not worry that my face is swelling up.  Most of all, I cannot wait to sleep with the windows open on a cool evening & not wake up swollen & stuffy.

For now, I will continue to complain to my hubby about the pain & soreness in my arm.  But soon, I will be footloose & pollen free.

Until next time...Happy Allergy season!

Joining the blogging band wagon!

What is the saying? If everyone jumps off a cliff, are you going to follow? Well, I guess you can say yes! Since everyone is blogging these days, I am going to follow suit. Although I am not sure what is so exciting about me, my life or what my dogs did, I like the idea of a life journal & it will make things a little easier to remember when I get back to scrap booking.

Here is to a new goal of "journaling"!!
